Dive Deeper: Psalm 119:105
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
— Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
God’s Word shows us the way to go! This verse reminds us that the Bible isn’t just a book—it’s a light that helps guide our steps and decisions each day. When we read God’s Word, it shines truth into our hearts and helps us make wise choices.
In Memory Verses in Action, kids learned that God’s Word helps them know how to live and follow Him. Below you’ll find fun ways to explore this verse further—through activities, songs, and family discussion questions that help God’s truth shine bright in your home.
🌟 Activities
Shine the Light!
Grab a flashlight and turn off the lights in a room. Ask: “What happens when we try to walk in the dark?” Then turn the light back on and read Psalm 119:105 together.
Talk about how God’s Word is like that light—it helps us see the right way to go and keeps us safe from stumbling.
Reflection Journal Prompt
Start a Light My Path journal to help your child remember how God’s Word guides you every day. Each day, have your child take a few minutes to think about how God’s Word helped them—or could have helped them—follow the right path.
They can write, draw, or use one short sentence to answer questions like:
What verse did I think about today?
How did God’s Word help me make a good choice?
Was there a moment when I could have followed God’s way instead?
How can I let God’s light shine through me tomorrow?
Encourage them to keep adding to the journal as they learn new verses. Each page will remind you that God’s Word is a lamp for their feet and a light on their path!
